Compared to traditional control valves, intelligent control valves are advanced flow control components. Due to their high precision and intelligence advantages, they are widely used in various industrial fields. However, during actual use, intelligent control valves may encounter some faults due to various reasons. Below, we briefly introduce some common faults of intelligent control valves and their troubleshooting methods.
1. Flow control failure
Flow control failure is a common fault in intelligent control valves, manifesting as the valve’s flow regulation not responding properly. This may be caused by faults in the electronic control system, sensor malfunctions, or actuator faults.
Troubleshooting: First, check whether the electronic control system and sensors are working properly. If there are abnormalities, they need to be replaced promptly. Next, check whether the actuator is jammed or worn out; if so, cleaning or replacement is necessary.
2. Excessive pressure pulsation
When adjusting pressure, if the intelligent control valve experiences excessive pressure pulsation, it may be due to unstable air source pressure, electrical rotation component faults, or filter clogging.
Troubleshooting: First, check whether the air source pressure is stable; if not, adding a pressure stabilizing air source may help. Next, check whether the electrical rotation components are working normally; if there are issues, the related parts should be replaced. Finally, periodically clean or replace the filter to ensure the air source remains clean.
3. Valve fails to open or close properly
If the valve fails to open or close properly, it may be caused by motor faults, actuator structural damage, or power supply issues.
Troubleshooting: First, check whether the motor is working normally; if there are problems, replace the motor. Next, check for damage to the actuator structure; if damaged, repair or replace it. Finally, check whether the power supply is stable; if abnormal, handle it promptly.
4. Summary
Intelligent control valves may encounter various faults during use, but as long as we master the common faults and troubleshooting methods, we can quickly and effectively eliminate problems and ensure the normal operation of the equipment.
